– With a former naval officer at the helm of operations and a strong focus on sales and execution, Trosvik is well equipped for an exciting voyage and a steady course in 2026 and the years ahead, says Jan Brønsten.
We have navigated many parallel processes throughout 2025, and order intake has also been challenging. We have now managed to bring the entire organization together and strengthen the foundation for further growth,” says Jan Brønsten, Group CEO of Trosvik Group AS, who at the same time pays high tribute to all employees.
Strategic Reorganization
At the beginning of 2025, Trosvik carried out a strategic reorganization that clarified the group structure. Jan Brønsten held responsibility both as Group CEO of Trosvik Group AS and as CEO of Trosvik AS during the transition phase. With the appointment of Marius Øverland as the new Shipyard Director and CEO of Trosvik AS in the summer of 2025, the roles were clearly defined.

“With Marius in place as head of the operational side of the business, more of my time has been freed up. This allows me to focus even more on sales, relationships, and further business development. Marius now has overall responsibility for day-to-day operations and for our more than 80 employees at the Brevik workshop,” says Brønsten
A Year Marked by Relocation and Consolidation
In many ways, 2025 was a milestone year for Trosvik. In August, the entire workshop operation and all employees were relocated from Lundedalen in Heistad to the shipyard in Brevik. This means that all employees of Trosvik AS are now gathered in one location – in the bay of Trosvik.
-It has been a challenging year for both management and employees. Being consolidated in Brevik has given us a completely different starting point. We are now much stronger operationally, and cross-team collaboration works better than ever,” says Øverland.

Brighter Times Ahead
Trosvik is now seeing a clear positive development in the market.
The maritime segment, in particular, is beginning to pick up again. This autumn, we secured, among other things, the contracts to build the next two vessels in the Reach Remote fleet. At the same time, we are seeing growth in assignments for land-based industry, both locally and regionally,” says Brønsten.

He adds that Trosvik is also working purposefully towards several new industrial segments where the company sees potential. ‘We aim to be a modern, forward-looking workshop and project organization with broad technical expertise and the ability to adapt to the market,’ he says.
Trosvik is also receiving increasing attention for its focus on remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROVs) through Trosvik Oceantech AS. The company has developed MultiCleaner – an ROV that efficiently cleans ship hulls, reducing both emissions and fuel consumption. The first unit has now been delivered to Panama, where it contributes to cleaner ships in the Panama Canal. Read more about Trosvik’s exciting ROV project.

From the Navy to the Shipyard Industry
For Marius Øverland, the role at Trosvik represents a natural continuation of a career marked by both technical insight and leadership experience. The former naval officer progressed from serving as Chief Engineer in the Navy to Technical Director at Vard. He also participated in the establishment of Trosvik Maritime AS – which is now Trosvik Group AS.

Marius Øverland has a broad, multidisciplinary vocational background as a mechanic and mechanical engineer, and he has experience with projects such as Island Victory and Yara Birkeland. He has also completed MBA studies, including courses in transformation leadership and industrial branding. In addition to his technical expertise, he has a strong commitment to people and corporate culture.
– For me, leadership is about more than operations. It’s about building team spirit and pride. We need to create a culture where people feel they are part of something bigger. I believe that is crucial for success, he says.
An Ambitious 2026
The foundation that has now been laid allows room for a more ambitious approach moving forward, according to Marius and Jan.
– In 2026, we will begin to reap the rewards of the efforts we have put in over the past two years. At the same time, we are extremely proud of the entire team here at Trosvik, who are helping to build the company further, he says.
We’re optimistic about the future!
